Debbie Wasserman Schultz abandons Floridians in month-long, forced Government Shutdown

ree

The federal government shutdown is now dragging into its 32nd day. With more than a month of dysfunction in Washington, the shutdown is much more than a political standoff—it’s a real-life crisis impacting families, workers, and communities across South Florida, and the entire country.

Americans are paying the price for Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz's political games. From military families living paycheck-to-paycheck, to small business owners waiting on federal loans, to moms and dads who depend on government programs to feed their kids—this shutdown is failing the very people government exists to serve.

The effects of the shutdown are already being felt across the nation:

  • Families are struggling: Thousands of government workers and contractors have gone weeks without a paycheck, forcing many to choose between paying rent and buying groceries.

  • National security is at risk: Homeland security and defense operations face delays and reduced staffing.

  • Small businesses are stalled: Critical loans and grants through the Small Business Administration are frozen.

  • Food and housing insecurity rising: Programs like WIC and SNAP are under strain, pushing vulnerable families closer to crisis.

  • Parks, public lands, and tourism are suffering: National treasures are closed or understaffed, costing local economies millions in lost revenue.

America’s Renewal is calling on Democrats Debbie Wasserman Schultz to put her partisanship aside and do what's right for the very voters who put her into office in the first place.
